Infusions take place in a comfortable environment and last anywhere from 45 minutes to 4 hours. Some patients report out-of-body sensations or mild hallucinations, but these side effects disappear soon after the infusion ends. Throughout the process, patients are monitored by one of the clinic’s highly-trained staff. For the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders, treatment may involve one-hour sessions two to three times a week for two to three weeks. In general, eight sessions over the first month will be scheduled and an additional four sessions over the second month. After that, some patients will not need any further sessions.
