Where these listings come from
Most of them were compiled from public records — state licence registers and ClinicalTrials.gov — rather than submitted by the person named. A directory that only contained people who found us first would not be much use to someone looking for help.
So every unclaimed listing says where it came from and links to the source record, and anyone can have theirs taken down immediately, without an account and without explaining themselves.
Before you book anyone
A licence is a floor, not a recommendation, and many of the people worth talking to hold no licence because none exists for what they do. Ask what happens if the day goes badly, who else will be in the room, and what their training actually was. Talk to a clinician about your own health and medication first — especially if you take an SSRI, lithium, or an MAOI.
